Using A School Voucher

Many public school systems offer vouchers to the parents of students who attend public schools. The idea behind the voucher is that giving parents the option to send their children to private school will relieve some of the burden from the public schools and allow them to more effectively teach the children. This does work in some cities. Opponents say that tax money is being wasted by allowing public school children to go to private school and the private schools will not be as effective in teaching children because of the vouchers. Proponents argue that when the public school system is not properly teaching their children, they should have the option of sending their children to private school.
